Eleanor Knott, lexicographer, philologist and expert in Bardic poetry, is remembered for being a multitalented but humble scholar; quiet and shy in person while exacting and incisive in her writing. The essaysinthiscollection began as contributions to a conference held in her memory in 2016 in Trinity College Dublin’s Department of Irish and Celtic Languages to commemorate her foundational impact on modern Celtic Studies. Some essays in English and others in Irish.
